1. Understand I shadow the team, attend relevant meetings, review systems and data, listen to customer and sales conversations and understand how the culture affects what happens in practice. The objective is to see the business as it operates, not only as it appears in a process document.
2. Diagnose I identify bottlenecks, wasted effort, gaps in ownership and assumptions that are not supported by the evidence. We separate symptoms from root causes and prioritise the opportunities with the greatest likely commercial value.
3. Design I recommend the changes required or build the new commercial approach with the team. That may include redesigning a process, clarifying roles, shaping the proposition, defining KPIs, mapping the customer journey or aligning sales, marketing, operations and technology around a shared outcome.
4. Deliver I work alongside the people responsible for the outcome. Depending on the engagement, that may mean implementing improvements, coaching leaders, supporting important customer opportunities, testing a new route to market or keeping a cross-functional project moving.
5. Embed I document the approach, train the team, create practical playbooks and clarify ongoing ownership. The aim is for the improvement to continue after the engagement rather than remaining dependent on external support.
